Fine showing from local pair at U15 tournament
Alpha's Rachael and Rebecca Woods faced one of the most important challenges of their badminton careers in Glasgow competing with the Irish squad in the U15 Quadrangular Series.
The girls made it to the Girls Doubles semi final, whilst Rachael reached the semi final of the top singles.
In the semi final, Rachael faced a much sterner challenge, meeting Scotland’s Rachel Sugden. With Rachael’s hamstring injury restricting her movement, it was the Scot who booked her place in the final.

Hide AdIn the girls doubles the Alpha pair knew they would have to be at their best if they were to wrestle past Scottish pair Rachel Andrew and Rachel Cameron.
They came back from losing the opening set 21-19 to level by taking the second 21-17, but were unable to unlock the defence of the Scottish pair in the deciding set to lose in the semi 21-16.
