First leg win for Fred Daly side

The juvenile Fred Daly team travelled all the way to Limavady to play Roe Park Golf Club in the away leg of their first round match.

And they performed extra well indeed.

Luke Woods, Daniel Culbert, Matthew Mallon, Connor Mulholland and Mark McCoy all won their matches. The only two to lose were Timothy Hodgett and Connor Mulholland.

This was a brilliant result. It’s not often that a team wins 5-2 away from home so it’s all credit to Trevor Woods and his young stars.

The second leg will be played at Banbridge on Sunday April 18.

If they are successful, and it will be a major upset if they are not, Banbridge will play either Dunfanaghy or Strabane in round two.

The sun is out, the inter-club matches have started, and the Masters is over. That means that the golf season is well and truly up and running.
