Fit N Running trio continue to excel at Lurgan Park
Fit N Running had 3 athletes in action at Lurgan Park on Saturday at the Northern Ireland senior cross country championships.
Mark McKinstry claimed 2nd in the men’s race for the second successive year having lead the 155 strong field for the majority of the race before losing out to City Of Derry athlete Aaron Doherty. The Spartans man made his move in the penultimate lap finishing with a 4 second advantage over McKinstry who crossed the line in 40mins 28secs on the 12k course.
Vernon Shiels finished mid-pack in 64th place with Conor Shiels in 76th place in times of 47mins 27secs and 48mins 37secs respectively.
Pauline Thom continued her good form claiming 6th place from a 142 strong field in the ladies race.
