Fixture change

GLENAVON'S first Carling Premiership game at Mourneview Park this season has been brought forward to Friday 13th August (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Blues take on their derby rivals Portadown in the season’s first Mid-Ulster clash in a game that was originally scheduled for Saturday 14th July with a 3pm kick-off.

The Blues have exercised a new rule in play that states that the home side can decide to shift any game to a Friday night providing they give the travelling side two weeks’ notice.

The new law could see a lot more Friday night games at Mourneview this season.

Glenavon’s pre-season continues this weekend with a trip to face Ballyclare Comrades on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm).

However, the trip to Monaghan on Monday evening has been called off.
