Flannaghan and Allen for Youth Tour of Scotland

Andrew Allen, a new signing at Ballymoney CC, is a very capable pupil of the Christian Brothers Grammar school in Omagh, since coming to Ballymoney he has already won two races at Cookstown and a third at Errigal.

At the Ras Mayo when team mate and other BCC rider Breandan Flannaghan was in yellow, Breandan had a crash on the final stage, Andrew sacrificed any chance he had of personal success to make sure his team mate Flannaghan was sheltered from the wind and towed back every attack to secure his friend remained in the front of the race - the first time ever that there have been two riders from the one club on a 4 man Ulster Team.

Breandan Flannaghan from Ballycastle has already set the marker out for the Irish National selection to go to France. At the recent Ras Mayo, Breandan on the first stage took two minutes out of the best riders in Ireland and was in yellow until the organisers changed the rules. Despite crashing and puncturing, Breandan Flannagha bossed the bunch and only lost out on points despite leading by two minutes.

Other riders in the Ulster team are Niall Lawrence from Bann Valley, Niall is coached by our own Ras team rider Steven McAllister. Niall was a bronze Irish National medal winner at Westport last August. The 4th man on the team is Cahir Doyle from Maghera, Cahir is only 15 in a tough age group but is a real handful to work with in the racing,
