Flights are almost there

Triangle Darts League

WITH three league games remaining, Brook’s Flights just need a winning result in their next game to secure the first ever Triangle Darts League title.

It was business as usual for the Flights as they romped to a 7-0 away win at the expense of the Montra.

Daniel McDonald (2x100, 135, 140 2x17 darts), Andy Martin (3x100, 180, 15 darts), Alwyn McCoosh (2x100, 137) and Jeff Watt (3x100, 140, 119 finish and 18 darts) outplayed the Montra.

In the doubles Daniel (2x100, 125, 140) and Andy (100, 140) had a comfortable win but the Montra pairing of Colin Quinn (3x100, 140) and Mark Herald (3x100) made Alwyn (2x100, 123, 140) and Jeff (3x100, 138, 3x140) work hard for the second doubles win.

In the team game Jeff Watt (121, 125, 180) played well for his team mates to secure all seven points.

British Legion also kept up their winning ways, this time with a 6-1 victory away to the Forge.

Rodney Kane (2x100), Ian Patterson (3x100, 137, 16 darts) and Martin Barr (4x100, 121, 15 darts) won for the Legion before Gary Kennedy pulled one back for Forge.

The Legion went on to win the two pairs games with Rodney and Ian recording scores of 6x100, 120, 140. Ian Patterson hit a 180 in the Legion’s win in the team event. John Evangalista (Forge 4x100, 140) also threw well.

Brook’s A, with only three players, won 5-2 against Sperrin.

Gary Friel (180), Mark Morrow and Kevin Scanlon (3x100, 121, 180, 16 darts) put Brook’s 3-0 up. John Gaile was awarded a walkover.

Gary and Mark won the first doubles to secure the win. Kevin (100, 2x140) was unlucky in the second as Sperrin pairing Trevor McLelland (3x100) and John Gaile (2x100) took the win. Three man Brook’s took the team event for a good win with an understrength team.

In the Scott’s derby it was Scott’s B who came away with a 4-3 success over Scott’s A.

Sharon Millar (86, 94, 97) put Scott’s B into an early lead before Vera Lindsay (80, 84, 86) levelled the scores.

Patricia Mullan (84, 86) and Lynn Godfrey (105) won to put Scott’s B 3-1 in front.
