Floyd's fold to Bertha's

BERTHA'S travelled to Floyd's this week looking for their first points of the season and quickly took the advantage as C Kennedy (2x100,2x140,17darts) beat T Thompson (2x100,135,118 checkout) followed by an impressive I Patterson (6x100,121,140, 17&19darts) who beat T Cauley (100,122) to put berthas 2-0 up.

R Fillis (100,132) bt I Sinclair (100) to make it 2-1 before R Elliott (2x100,140) bt A Allen (3x100) and O McLaughlin (2x100,121) bt R Watt(2x140,2x100) to make it 4-1 to Bertha’s. W Kane (5x100,18 darts) then beat G Stirling (100,177) to give Bertha’s their first win.

E Guyler(100,121,140,19 darts) didn't let up as he beat A McBride(120,116) to make it 6-1 before B McLaughlin (100) won the final game for Floyd’s.

Villa Swifts continue to impress and even at this early stage are looking like favourites to win the league. They hosted Kelly’s Inn this week who as well as the Swifts had maximum points going into this game. The Swifts struck first when D Moffat (140,100) got the better of A Hetter (4x100), S Mullan (100) beat T.Moffat (100) to level the game.

The Swifts struck back when D Norton (2x140,100) beat S Gibson (125,120) followed by G Dallas (140,125,123,3x100) to put Swifts in a 3-1 lead. An inform Davy Glenn (140,125,2x100, 16 and 18 darts) quickly made it 4-1 before GG McKay (125,2x140,100,15 darts) beat J McNeill (2x140,121) to secure the points for the Swifts.

D Toner won his game and C Scott (2x100) beat M Quinn (4x100, 2x140, 21 darts) for a 7-1 victory to the Swifts.

Villa A travelled to Coleraine RBL looking for a win to keep pace with Villa Swifts and got of the perfect start winning the first two games. D Morrow (133,19darts) was scoring consistantly on the 19’s to beat J Kane (101) and P Moffitt (100,138).

RBL came back though first through P McKay (3x100,125) before the impressive B McLaughlin (3x140,2x100,16 darts) quickly levelled the score. Missed doubles cost J McLaughlin (100,121,2x140,113,16 darts) as D McGregor (121,125) came back from one down to win a great game of darts by both players.

M Barr (2x100) got the better of R Millar (100) to give Villa a 4-2 lead with two games to go. J McIntyre (115,127) also missed a series of doubles as S Walker won the next followed by J McGarry (2x140,2x100) missing doubles to let in R Kane (100 checkout) to tie the game.

Railway Arms hosted Floyd’s B and didnt waste anytime going 2-0 up through A Owens then J Owens (3x100) who beat A Mulholland(2x100). V Phillips (140,100) made it 3-0 before K Scanlon (3x100,21 darts) overcome W Bradley (140) for a 4-0 lead.

R Park (100,120 checkout) secured the win before C Murray and C Platt made it 7-0 to Railway Arms. S Collins (2x100) win over C Quinn(121, 140, 2x100) for Floyd’s will be little consollation here.

Temple looking for their first points welcomed an improving Sperrin team who took the lead through W Robertson (120,140), R Friel (171) levelled the score before J Gaile and K Dickson gave Sperrin a 3-1 lead.

S McCarron (2x100,121) beat B McNeill (130) to give Temple a lifeline but to no avail as N McVey beat G Friel (100) followed by S Scott(148) who bt N Moore (101) and E Eardley (125,100,132) wrapped the game up for Sperrin.

Finn McCool’s travelled to the Village Tavern needing a win to put them joint top of the table with the Villa Swifts before next week’s crunch game.

And Finns didn't dissappoint, lead by the consistent J Elliott (4x100,19 darts) who beat M McMullan (101) and followed by S Greer(100,140) they were quickly 2-0 up.

M Kane(122) pulled 1 back for Tavern beating R Patton(2x100) but G Keys (2x100) bt S Patterson (140) to restore a two game advantage to Finns.

R McKeown (100) followed by J McGowan both won to make it 5-1 and secure the points for Finns before S Smyth beat A Greer (2x100,121) for Tavern. R McMullan (140.100) completed the scoring for Finns.
