Football Coach Education courses

LOCAL football coaches in the Coleraine and Ballymoney areas are being given the chance to further their qualifications and knowledge through the Causeway Coach Management Scheme.

The courses on offer are:

IFA Level One - Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney, from Sunday, February 28; IFA Referees Course, Cloonavin, Coleraine, from Monday, February 22; IFA Goalkeeping Certificate, University of Ulster, Coleraine, - Sunday, March 21; IFA Coaching Disabled Footballers, Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney, Monday, March 29.

Also for coaches there are the generic coaching qualifications in child protection and first aid that all clubs are required to have: Safeguarding Children & Young People, Cloonavin, - Thursday, February 25; Emergency Aid for Sport, Coleraine Rugby Club, Sunday, February 21.

Roger Downey, Sports Development officer for Coleraine Borough Council said: “The courses are an ideal opportunity for local coaches to further their qualifications by enrolling on these courses, which are all being hosted in the Coleraine and Ballymoney area.

“The courses have received support from the Awards for All programme and are great value for money.”
