FOOTBALL: Coleraine snap up striker Morrow

COLERAINE have landed former Northern Ireland Under-21 striker Sammy Morrow.

Morrow has agreed an 18-month deal with the Bannsiders after opting to leave Derry City.

The striker will not be available for Saturday's Carling Premiership clash against Glenavon as he is awaiting international clearance from the FAI.

However, Morrow should be available next week as he was a free agent and so could sign outside the transfer window.

Portadown were also believed to have been interested in the player.

Morrow enjoyed three years at Ipswich after signing for the club in 2001.

He has also had spells at Boston United, Hibernian, Livingston and Partick Thistle.

The move will delight Bannsiders fans dismayed at the loss of hot-shot striker Rory Patterson to Glentoran at the end of the season.
