FOOTBALL: Coleraine to play Glebe Rangers this Saturday

Davy Platt's Coleraine will travel to Ballymoney this Saturday to meet Glebe in a pre-season friendly.

The friendly is part of the Glebe fun day.

And Glebe boss, Gary Scott is looking forward to the tie:

"Results absolutely do not matter in any form at the minute," he said.

"It's all about the workrate, tempo and getting as much playing time under our belts as possible.

"It's about seeing what people do well and building on that while working on what we can do better in some areas."

Scott said the effort of his players in their previous three friendly matches had been "exemplary".

On Saturday Glebe continued their preparations by beating Magherafelt Sky Blues 4-2 - including a Stuart Moore hat-trick.

The only downside for the locals is the loss of five players who have picked up knocks in the past week - Peter Kennoway, Ryan Tannahill, Tommy Elder, Gareth Henry and Brian Kane.

That combined with the loss of Trevor Parkhill, Tommy Elder and Stuart Moore to the Northern Ireland Junior Squad for Saturday means Scott will be relying on the strength of his squad for the Coleraine match.

"It will be a huge test and we are expecting a good crowd," added Scott.

The game starts at 2pm at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre.
