FOOTBALL: Committee 'reluctantly' accept John's resignation

THE Management Committee of Coleraine Football Club has paid tribute to John Mairs following his decision to step down from his role as Chief Executive.

In a statement they 'reluctantly accepted' Mr Mair's decision and wished him well for the future.

It read: "Following the Management Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 29 the Board has reluctantly accepted the resignation of Mr John Mairs.

"At the meeting John indicated that due to additional pressures and for personal reasons, he could no longer continue as a board member.

"The management board will now take immediate steps to address the matters associated with John's resignation.

"The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank John for the role he has played in helping to bring the club through a difficult time four years ago and indeed his contribution to the development of the club over recent times.

"His energy and commitment to Coleraine Football Club has been greatly appreciated and we wish him well for the future."
