FOOTBALL: Glenavon v Coleraine preview

MARTY Quinn looks set to continue as manager of Glenavon for the visit of Coleraine this Saturday.

Quinn intimated he would step down following his team's embarrassing 4-1 thumping by Glentoran at the weekend.

The Lurgan Blues had two players dismissed – defensive duo Jay Magee and Willo McDonagh – in a bad tempered affair at the Oval.

Quinn (pictured right) said afterwards: "I will be doing a lot of soul searching over the next few days, whether I can continue on in the position."

But Glenavon chairman, Adrain Teer, has come out in support of Quinn, insisting there is no question of the club changing manager.

"The Board of Directors are in full support of Marty. There will be no change of management at Mourneview Park," said Teer.

"It has been a difficult time for the club, in terms for results. Yet, in many games, in spite of some different performances, there has been little between the teams. Luck has not been on our side."

Following a meeting with his chairman, Quinn admitted he now wants to finish the job he started.

"I had 24 hours to think about things. As far as I'm concerned I'm ready to plough on," he said.
