FOOTBALL: Good luck to our 'Wee Ants'

BERTIE Peacock under 13's are dreaming of silverware.

The young side will meet Linfield in the Tesco Cup final this Saturday at Dungannon.

The winning team will represent Northern Ireland at the UK Tesco Cup Finals to be held in England this summer.

This is the third time the Under 13's have progressed to the final.

They're hoping that it's third time lucky, and this time they'll bring home the all-important silverware.

Bertie Peacock Youths will be running a bus to the final, seats are on a first come first served basis. To book a place contact 07928201899.

Let's meet the team, managed by David Edgar, Anthony Gilmore and Johnny Law:

1. Michael Cassidy (GK).

In his fourth year with the club, Michael is a great shot stopper. Saturday will be his third Tesco Cup final.

2. Thomas Dallas (Defender)

A hard hitting defender, Thomas has a great touch and has a good range of passing.

3. Mark Edgar (Defender)

A talented defender who likes to get forward. Mark is also a member of the County Development squad.

4. Scott Whiteside (Defender)

Scott is the team captain, he's a big strong player who is cool under pressure. Scott is also part of the County squad.

5. Jordan Grissam (Defender)

A defender who is strong in the air and a threat from set pieces. Another County player.

6. Daniel Carton (Defender)

Mr Versatility, Daniel is happy playing at the back or in midfield.

7. Michael Gilmore (Midfield)

Michael is the youngest member of the team, he's a strong winger with a terrific work rate. He's also part of the County Development squad.

8. Glenn Law (Midfield)

A skillfull player with great passing skills. 'Wee' Glenn has a great head for the game. He's also a County Development player.

9. Luke Michell (Forward)

Luke joined the under 13's from Ballymoney this year. He's settled in quickly and has been named 'the fox in the box'. He's the teams leading goalscorer.

10. Lyndon Kane (Midfield)

A hard working player who likes to break up play. Lindon is also a County player.

11. Rowan Campbell (Midfield)

Another player who joined Bertie's from Ballymoney. Rowan is a tricky left winger who loves to beat defenders.

12. Jack Gray (Forward)

A pacy foward with great skill who likes to play on the last defender.

13. Chris Boreland (Midfield)

The joker of the pack, Chris has a great eye for goal.

14. Ryan Whiteside (Midfield)

Ryan's a two footed midfielder who has very quick feet and a great pace.

15. Glenn McQuilkin (Midfield)

A dedicated team member, Glenn always gives 100 percent, he has a sweet left foot.

16. Brandon Herald (Forward)

Brandon joined from Coleraine this year. A talented striker who is big and strong. A handful for any defence.
