FOOTBALL: Ogilby plays down Coleraine link

Institute centre-back David Ogilby has dismissed speculation that he's on the verge of signing for the Bannsiders.

Reports last week stated that the Bannsiders were tracking trio Joe McCready, Kevin Ramsey and Ogilby, but the defender says he hasn't spoken to any club since the season ended.

"I heard all the rumours myself, but I can tell everyone that the only club I have spoken to is Institute," admitted Ogilby.

"Yes I have heard a few things about Coleraine and Glentoran, but there has been nothing concrete from either club and I only signed a two year deal with 'Stute last season, so I'm still under contract with them for at least another season."

The Strathfoyle man, who is currently on holidays in Spain, acknowledges that he expects cuts to happen at Drumahoe, since the club's relegation to the Championship.

"I had a chat with John (Gregg) last week, but it was only a chat and I hope to talk to him again in much greater detail about the plans he and the club have for the future whenever I get back from my holidays," he added.
