If the first half produced little in way of chances the second 45 minutes was a sizzler.

Jordans Owens headed the Crues into the lead, but it was cancelled out by a screamer from substitute Gavin Taggart.

Defender Johnny Taylor then thought he had won it for the visitors, until Adamson struck late on.

Crusaders created a decent opportunity on 35 minutes when a neat build up involved Owens and Stephen Cockcroft resulted in Richard Clarke blazing wildly over the crossbar.

United offered little up front. But as the clock ticked down, new signing Kyle McVey charged forward to link up with Alan Teggart, but David Cushley completely fluffed his lines.

Crusaders lifted the gloom by taking the lead on 52 minutes. Cockcroft’s corner kick was met and the back post by by Owens who powered his shot past Nelson.

The visitors came roaring back with that scorcher from Taggart.

United almost did it again on 69 minutes. Neal Gawley’s free kick was met by Matty Tipton and his header crashed off the base of the post before O’Neill hacked clear.

Taylor headed in a Gawley corner kick on 82 minutes that looked to have won it, but United could only hold the lead for two minutes as Adamson’s header from a Gary McCutcheon cross left Nelson helpless.
