Eoin Bradley has signed a two-year deal following an impressive debut season for Coleraine in which he scored 12 goals in 23 appearance for the Bannsiders.

As a Gaelic footballer Eoin (30) has won a National Football League title and represented his county, Derry.

Glenavon boss Gary Hamilton was keen to thrash out the deal to bring additional firepower to his cup-winning squad before heading off for a week’s break in America.

Meanwhile, in-demand Blues striker Guy Bates has until next week to decide whether he’ll be staying with the club.

Bates, who has been linked with Crusaders and Linfield, was offered a new deal with Glenavon at the turn of the year but has yet to commit to a contract.

The 28-year-old striker is currently on holiday, as is Blues boss Hamilton.

When the pair return next week, Bates’ future at the club will be resolved one way or another.

The ‘MAIL’ understands that Bates has promised the club that he will stay at Mourneview Park provided he remains an Irish League player.

Before heading off to America for a well-earned break Hamilton commented: “Obviously, we would love Guy to stay at the club. He has done fantastic for us over the past two seasons. In saying that, if he decides to move on, then we move on also.”

Glenavon’s pre-season training begins on June 7 ahead of the club’s return to European action in July.
