Amateurs make it three wins on the trot

DROMORE Amateurs, sponsored by McDonald’s Mace, made it three league wins in a row on Saturday with this 2-1 victory over Donard Hospital.

The Amateurs are in fine form at the moment, particularly at Ferris Park, and so it proved again on Saturday when they dominated proceedings for the opening hour, cruising along with a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from the blossoming strikeforce of Robert Coady and Aaron Noble.

A soft goal in favour of the visitors made the last half-hour more nervous for Dromore than it needed to be, but David Smylie’s side were in determined mood and stubbornly preserved their 2-1 advantage until the final whistle.
