Andy eyes early return

GLENAVON goalkeeper Andy Coleman could be back before the end of the season.

It was feared the stopper might miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in the Irish Cup defeat to Crusaders last month.

However, club player/manager Gary Hamilton is hopeful of having Andy back to challenge Davey O’Hare for a place in the team before the season finishes.

He said: “We don’t want to tempt fate but Andy was back running on Saturday and we’re hoping to have him back in some training in the next couple of weeks. We’re looking at him getting back playing in four weeks or so.

“If Davey O’Hare got injured at the minute we’d be stuck because we don’t want to be putting a young kid in nets for important games. That’s the hardest place for a young guy to come into because the goalkeeper is the last line so the sooner we get Andy back the better.”
