Annual Mini Soccer League kicks off this Saturday

THIS Saturday afternoon, April 16, will see the start of the hugely popular and successful Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League.

The league has gone into partnership with the Irish Football Association and McDonalds Restaurant to form an IFA approved Football ‘Games’ Development Centre at their Ballymena Showgrounds base.

Local IFA Development Officer Wes Gregg met with league officials last Friday night to launch this new initiative which could see well over 100 teams of young boys and girls compete in a friendly and healthy lifestyle each week over April, May and June.

The league are very grateful to the IFA and McDonalds for their continued support which will see much needed equipment as well as several treats go to the competing teams.

A total of 11 teams will compete in this Saturday’s P2 age group event, which starts at 2pm. They are: Ballymena Youth, Ballymena Town, Northend FC, Northend United, Carniny Amateurs, Carniny Cougars, Carniny Rovers, Kells and Connor Cougars, Antrim Rovers.
