Appeal to IFA goes Ballymacash way but clubs may face play off decider

Charges were dropped and they still retain the three points which at one stage were deducted.

It is understood the IFA have also met with the South Antrim League and these discussions were unlikely to made known before Tuesday night’s annual meeting of the League.

It appears there is likely to be a play-off for the Division 2 title between Ballymacash and Warren YM, but with no pitches available to play it on there is also the likelihood the top spot will be shared.

How did the other

locals fare?

Last week Harry Allen took a look at how the teams in the South Antrim League fared during the past season.

But how did the other local teams di in their respective Leagues.

DERRIAGHY: played in arguably the top junior League in Northern Ireland - the Amateur League Premier Division - and though having a few rocky patches they did finish in a respectable mid-table position.

The second eleven are in 3A, but unfortunately finished one from the bottom and face relegation.

LISBURN RANGERS: finished mid-table but at one stage were looking for better in Division 1A of the Amateur League.

Their second eleven gave the club a boost by finishing runners-up in 3B and will play in the the top reserve division next season.

DUNMURRY REC: finished in the bottom half of Amateur League 1A and are still looking for that return to the Premier Division.

The reserve team were also in the bottom half of Division 3C of the Amateur League.

DROMARA: still struggling to find better days after finishing in bottom half of Division 1A of the Amateur League.

DOWNSHIRE YM: a poor season which finished with them rock bottom of Amateur League Division 1B and the second eleven three from the foot of Division 3C.

DUNMURRY YM: are also in decline at present and in need of a lift. They finished one from the bottom of Amateur League Division 1B.

Their seconds did a bit better with a bottom half finish in Division 3C.

SUFFOLK FC: runners-up in Amateur League Division 2A, just a point behind St Oliver Plunkett and that was a good performance though a little disappointing.

Their second eleven finished in the bottom half of Division 3D.

BALLYMACASH RANGERS: looked likely winners of the Mid Ulster Premier Division at one stage, but slipped up to finish runners-up. It was still a first class performance.

The second eleven just avoided relegation from the Reserve Championship.

LOWER MAZE: a fight against relegation and they just survived in Mid Ulster Intermediate A - by a point.

The reserves finished three from the bottom but remain in Reserve Division 1.

CREWE UTD: a poor season in which they finished bottom of Intermediate A and they will be seeking an improvement next term.

BROOMHEDGE: second from bottom and relegated from Intermediate B along with Seagoe.

GLENAVY: managed to escape relegation from Division 2, just four points above the bottom two.

The reserves finished one of three teams on 19 points, but nine points clear of the bottom two in Reserve Division 1.

HILLSBOROUGH BOYS: a pretty good year for this young team who finished mid-table in Division 3 of the Mid Ulster League.

MOIRA ALBION: relegated from Division 3 after finishing three points behind the third from bottom team.

AGHALEE VILLAGE: what a turn-a-round after having a poor record the previous season they finished runners-up and are promoted from Division 4.

THE DONS: they finished mid-table in Mid Ulster Division 4.
