Glenavon fought hard to get in the game but Berties back four were having none of it. Peacocks were unlucky not to add to their tally with strikes from Wan and Corey McCartney going wide just before the break.

The second half turned out to be very entertaining as Berties raced to a 2-0 lead when a great ball from McCartney put Wan through and he made no mistake from 10 yards.

Glenavon at this stage were putting Berties on the back foot and earned a spot kick which was scored. This gave the Lurgan men a bit of belief and for the last 10 minutes they threw everything at Berties but couldn’t break through as the young Peacocks were now looking to hit on the break and were unlucky not to score again when Wallace shot wide from a Wan cross.

As the ref blew for full time Berties gave a sigh of relief and had recorded a fine away win and a valuable three points. Next week the boys are at home to Portadown.
