Glenavon have lined up with just one up top in their last two games away at Glentoran and Linfield. However, there will be a change of tactics as they return to Mourneview Park.

Hamilton said: “We’ll make a couple of changes. We’ll go 4-4-2. We’ll be more attacking and we’ll see what happens.

“David Rainey is in with a shout of getting a start. Kyle Neill came on and did well too but then all the midfield played well.”

Hamilton maintains he isn’t dreaming of a top six finish despite sitting in sixth spot even though they haven’t won any of their last four league outings.

They’ll see this game as a chance to bounce back and with Dungannon now just three points behind, it couldn’t be more important.

“It’s another game we want to take three points from,” said Hamilton. “In the first home game against Dungannon last season we lost so we’ve got to improve on that. If we could pick up three points it would be a step in the right direction.

“If we can show the same attitude we did against Glentoran and Linfield and can improve going forward then there’s no reason why we can’t get a result.”

The Blues haven’t been outside the top half this season. However, that doesn’t mean Hamilton is allowing himself to dream of finishing there.

He said: “We’re still not thinking about top six. Other people can talk about that but we just want to improve on last season. That’s always been our aim. If that takes us into the top six then brilliant.”
