Thirty minutes in to the second half Roe Valley broke the deadlock. After some excellent wing play the Roe Valley player cut inside and slotted the ball past the Ballymoney keeper.

Ballymoney responded well but were denied by some great saves from the Roe Valley keeper. Ballymoney then hit Roe Valley’s crossbar and post and just when the boys thought a goal wasn’t going to come Rhys Keys popped up in the final minute of the game to poke the ball over the goal line from close range.

Ballymoney were 2-0 down at half-time but in the second half Scott Gardiner struck the crossbar after a terrific shot and then scored with a Joey Christie freekick but couldn’t find an equaliser.

Man of Match: Joshua Morrison.
