The class of 1988-89 won the First Division of the Boys’ Brigade Old Boys’ League.

Corr’s Corner Hotel was the venue where manager Blair Stewart and his assistant, Irish League goal-scoring legend Billy McAvoy, reminisced with the players about the glorious season a quarter of a century ago.

Having narrowly lost out on the league title in the previous campaign on a penalty shoot-out against 24th Old Boys, the villagers clinched the championship on the final day of the season, beating 8th OB 2-1. The winner came with virtually the last kick of the game and it sparked wild celebrations!

It capped what was a wonderful season for the well-regarded club with the Neill Cup, Burnside Trophy and Old Boys’ League 5-a-side Cup already in the trophy cabinet.
