It was slightly different than normal though with teams coming in to run Soccer Camps and a team coming from North-side Presbyterian Church Florida for two weeks to run Kids and Teenage Clubs.

After the huge success of last year, Ballysally Presbyterian Church, in partnership with Ambassadors in Sport, provided a weekly football camp again.

Ballysally Presbyterian Church work in partnership to run football schools as they are designed to give young, developing players aged 4-11 an opportunity to learn basic and advanced soccer skills in a fun, positive and encouraging Christian environment.

Each day includes technical and tactical instruction for individuals and groups focusing on passing, control, dribbling, heading, defending, shooting and goalkeeping.

This is just a basic football event for young people in Ballysally within the church and local community.

The team went into the local Primary School where they taught the young people new football skills and shared hope through football, and every day from 3-5pm they ran a Football Camp in the community.

Over the past few years there have been opportunities for the men of the estate to get involved in different activities within the Church - these have included fishing trips, football matches with other Churches and 5-a-side football every week.

All of this has brought a lot of men together in the estate and it has been enjoyed by everyone involved. Every evening men from the estate got the chance to play in a competitive but friendly match and this was really good to see them all coming together.

“It was a great opportunity to bring the families from the Community in Ballysally Together,” said Johnny Doey, Ballysally Youth and Community worker .

“Ballysally this June was slightly different than usual and we all have been blessed and are looking forward to many more weeks like this in the future. Ballysally Presbyterian Church - A place where people matter.”
