Banbridge Rangers Swifts keep pressure on with away win

Banbridge Rangers Swifts kept the pressure on Glenavy Reserves at the top of the league a fine 4-1 win away to a strong Lurgan BBOB Reserves.

The Swifts took charge of proceedings from the outset and were awarded a penalty on 12 minutes when Neily Wilson was upended in the box and gathered himself to execute the spot kick himself. Dean Gordon had a good opportunity on twenty minutes but missed the target but on the half hour mark Gordon had a second bite of the cherry and he dispatched to give his side a 2-0 lead going into half time.

Rangers extended their lead when a headed corner landed to Wayne McAllister and he volleyed into the far corner to all but seal the three points. Lurgan BBOB gave themselves a glimmer of hope when an inswinging corner went directly into the Rangers net. BBOB were awarded a penalty but Gers keeper Michael Burns saved the spot kick low to his left hand side. Jason Adamson went on a mazy run before being brought down in the box and Captain Neil Wilson was on hand to score his second of the day and secure a well earned victory.
