Bannsiders visit Mini Soccer Centre

On the playing side, an incredible match between Carniny Under-9s and Bertie Peacock Under-9s as engrossing and an incredible 13 goals scored.

Both teams were terrific and Carniny played their part in making this a classic and to lose a game after scoring 5 goals will not happen too oten.

In the Under-10 league, Maiden City and Coleraine Olympic played out another classic game which was decided by a single goal.

Coleraine played very well against the ever improving Maiden City squad and both teams showed that they have a lot more to offer this season.

In the Under-11 League North End United continued to demonstrate their recent improvement in form and pushed a very good Maiden City Colts side all the way with only a single goal deciding it in the end.

There must be some serious bragging rights at Maiden City as the Colts are flying high in the league!

Both Magherafelt Sky Blues teams secured victories in the Under-11 league with very impressive performances against Limavady and the ever improving Ballycastle United squad.

Ballymena United won the Under-10 local derby with Carniny but Carniny made their neighbours work all the way producing a good performance which shoud encourage them for the future.

Balymena United continue their recent run of good form and have moved up towards the top of the Under-10 table.

Dungiven and Portrush Under-10s produced another super match which could easily have ended 5-5.

Portrush secured their win with a super Tyler hat-trick.

For Dungiven, although a first defeat of the season, there were many positives.

Great game and a credit to both clubs - A pleasure to watch.

In the Under-9 league Coleraine Olympic started well against Coleraine Academy and made Academy work very hard to secure the points.

A good game played in great spirits between two committed sides.

Also in the Under-9 league Ballycastle United secured two wins in a row with a battling performance aganst a much improved Portrush side. Again this was an entertaining game for the large crowd of spectators. Well done both sides.

The final two games of the day saw Coleraine Academy Under-11s take on Bertie Peacock Youths in the Under-11 league and Ballymoney United take on Coleraine Olympic also in the Under-11 League.

Both games were played at a high tempo and featured great attacking play. The final goal for Ballymoney was a treat for the spectators.

But, all four sides made these final fixtures great entertainment and they were played in a friendly atmosphere which was a credit to all the clubs involved.

Thanks once again to all the referees who this year have helped improve our matchdays immensely.

TOMMY CALLS IT A DAY

THE Mini Soccer Centre’s highly esteemed referee Mr Tommy O’Hara has decided to hang up his whistle and move off the centre spot for the final time. Tommy has been officiating at the Peace III Ballysally Mini soccer since its inception and was a true getleman and a pleasure to work with. On behalf of everyone at North-West Coleraine and District Youth League we would like to wish Tommy a long and happy retirement.

Hopefully, Tommy will get a chance to pop down and visit occasionally.

The league will hope to formally mark Tommy’s long service with us in the near future. Details to be announced.
