Big games for local teams this weekend in league and cups

There are some massive league and cup games this weekend involving local teams.

Banbridge Town will look to get back on track following their Bob Radcliffe Cup defeat to Annagh United this weekend (P39) with a league game against Tobermore United.

Town travel to the side who came down from Championship 1 last season. Kick off is 3pm.

The locals hope that Paul Walsh and Conor Downey will return to the panel and that a victory will keep them on top of the league.

Elsewhere Rathfriland Rangers play Newry City AFC in the first round of the Mid Ulster Cup at Iveagh Park.

The newly reformed Newry City AFC have relaunched themselves in the Intermediate B section of the Mid Ulster League and despite a 1-0 cup defeat at the weekend have had a decent start to the season so far.

After their 1 - 1 draw on Saturday Rathfriland will be looking to progress in this local cup competition, which can see draws against Irish League clubs at relatively early stages.

Kick off in that game is at 1.30pm.
