Big weekend ahead for Blues and Whites

THE new Carling Premier League season may have only just begun, but already a crucial weekend lies ahead of Linfield and Lisburn Distillery.

Champions Linfield have got their defence of the title off to a superb start with two wins from two and an impressive goal difference at the top of the table, however, they will hope to continue their impressive early season form with a tricky away trip to Dungannon Swifts tomorrow (Saturday).

Meanwhile, Lisburn Distillery have had something of a woeful start to the new campaign with their 4-1 opening day defeat against Ballymena, followed by a 5-1 drubbing at Portadown last weekend.

The Whites now lie firmly rooted to the bottom of the table, with a poor goal difference, and they will be hoping for a change in fortunes when they travel to Coleraine tomorrow.

At this stage of the season there is certainly no reason to panic, however, Tommy Wright’s men will be hoping to get points on the board as soon as possible, before uncertainty creeps in.
