Big win for Bertha’s FC in Bushmills over Finn McCool’s

Bertha’s FC v Finn McCool’s had 5 goals, as many cards, a sending off and a penalty.

It was Bertha’s who got off to the perfect start when Pollock was clean through and the winger put the league leaders 1-0 up after 30 seconds.

Chances came for both sides with McLaughlin, Hanna and Stewart for Bertha’s and Dobbin with a couple of half chances for the home side. 1-0 became 1-1 after 15 mins when the home side were awarded a penalty after a foul by Dysart in the area, Dobbin stepped up and put the ball in the bottom right hand corner.

It was 2-1 to the away side when a well won header by Hoey at the back was controlled by McGarvey who played a precision through ball into the path of McLaughlin who slotted home from 12 yards.

Bertha’s grabbed number 3 when Stewart was on hand to stick it away .

Finn’s at this stage were on the back foot and had very little efforts on the Bertha’s goal.

Stewart, who ran tirelessly all game, was awarded for his efforts. McGarvey played him in and the talisman despatched the ball home for his second and Bertha’s 4th of the game. The second half was a pretty dull affair as the away side were content with their lead while Finn’s found chances hard to come by and it was the away team who advanced to the next round.
