‘Blitz’ and pieces of action for Carniny

The initiative is a follow on from their popular schools out blitz which proved a huge success.

The blitz is specifically for children born in the year 2004/2005 continues today (Tuesday), 21st and 22nd August, 2012 from 2pm -3pm on the Mini Soccer pitches at Ballymena Showgrounds.

All available places were scooped up quickly.

The club have also naturally been involved in a few friendlies as the respective teams prepare for the new season.

UNDER-9

Last Saturday two Carniny Amateur and Youth Under 9 Teams travelled to Country Park Loughgall to play Loughgall FC in a Friendly.

Plans for a return fixture in Ballymena are also well underway and the club hopes that this begins a long-standing relationship with Loughgall.

Carniny Amateurs: Nathaniel Hanna, David Hanna, Joshua Balmer, Harley Farenden, Diego Fletcher, Marshal Robinson.

Carniny Youth: Tyree Erwin, Paul O’Boyle, Tony Ward, Josh McKendry, Adam Millar, Cameron Moody, Jordan Balmer

UNDER-11

The under-11s won 7-4 in a high-scoring encounter against Celtic Boys.

The goals came from Doherty (3), Mearns (2), Scullion and Farquhar.

UNDER-15

The under-15s earned a 2-2 drawin a friendly at Greenisland.

Matthew Shevlin netted both Carniny goals.

Carniny under 14s and Under 15s had a combined training session on Saturday morning as part of the pre season for both teams.

After a tough training session the teams played a match between themselves which turned out to be an excellent work out for all the players involved as the new season approaches.
