On 28 minutes Ards were reduced to ten men with McMillen red carded after an incident with Rainey.

Andy McGrory had a great chance to double Glenavon’s lead but he lashed his shot over the bar from a good position.

The home side were back on level terms shortly into the second half when McClelland got on the end of a pass Scott Davidson.

However, Glenavon were rewarded for their hard work when Neill got the final touch after a flick on by Guy Bates and his goal was enough to secure the points.
