Boss will always back his players

Unfortunately on Saturday at Warrenpoint Town, he took his protests too far and was dismissed to the stands by referee Keith Kennedy.

Deery and Town boss Barry Gray had to be seperated by both benches, before been told to watch the remainder of the game from the stands.

“I have no bother going on record saying it, but we spoke to their manager and he agreeed to a 3.10pm kick-off time, because we were slightly delayed coming through Newry, but then after everything was agreed his assistant said no we are going at 3pm and we weren’t aware of this,” he said.

“Look they were roaring, shouting and getting heated up about a couple of things which were nothing challenges and you have to stand up for your players.

“That was the only thing I was doing.

“They were trying to get Niall Grace booked or trying to get the referee’s attendance for a late tackle, but there was absolutely nothing in it.

“At times I feel I have to stand up for my players and I’ll always do it but if it’s perceived the wrong way I’m sorry, but I’ll defend the team as best as I can.”
