Boycie set to play the waiting game

DARREN Boyce says he is prepared to wait until the New Year to discuss his future as specualtion increases he will be returning to The Showgrounds.

The striker is clearly enjoying his loan spell at Dungannon Swifts and was named Player of the Month for November last week. Bannsiders boss told Times Sport he is weighing up whether or not to recall the Bushmills man to the Ballycastle Road. But with Dungannon keen to retain his services and Ballymena United also believed to monitoring things it seems he will not be short of offers.

“I am not sure what will happen during January – but that can wait until the New Year,” he said.

“I just know I am loving my time here at Dungannon. The lads have been great, and Murph (Darren Murphy) has shown great faith in me by giving me regular game time.

“That has boosted my confidence and the goals have started to come.

“It would be a pity to disrupt that, but we will just have to wait and see what happens.”

There could be a number of changes at the club come January with Kearney laying the law down to his squad over their recent performances.

Club chairman Collin McKendry last week went public in backing the manager “110 per cent” and Kearney has challenged his players to prove they are up for the fight.

“I have given my all for this club and I am not going to walk away,” he said.

“It is up to the players to prove they are willing to give their all with me, and if they aren’t willing to do that then they won’t be here in January.
