Bradley seals comeback win for Glenavon

Glenavon produced a superb comeback to come from two down to beat Moyola Park 3-2 at Mill Meadow on Saturday.

Their reward is another away trip, this time at H&W Welders, in the next round.

The visitors started well dictating play and the first chance fell to skipper Kris Lindsay who rose at the back post to meet a cross from Rhys Marshall but his effort was over the bar.

The next chance fell to Kevin Braniff, who turned well in the box but his low drive was well saved by keeper Marty Farniok.

On 12 minutes Moyola had their first sight of goal when Robert Lucas gathered the ball at the edge of the box and struck a firm drive which Alan Blayney got down to hold.

The cup holders were stunned on 14 minutes as Darren Walls ran onto a fine pass in behind the back four and his angled drive beat Blayney to give the Championship 2 side a shock lead.

It got even worse for Glenavon on 30 minutes as Eugene Gallagher blasted the ball home after a mistake by Lindsay saw the ball break to him.

Despite have plenty of the ball for the remainder of the half the Lurgan Blues rarely got a shot on goal and only had efforts from Lindsay and Bradley to reflect on as they went in 2-0 down at the break.

Gary Hamilton and Shane McCabe came on at the start of the second half for Kilmartin and Kelly and Glenavon pulled a goal back on 48 minutes. After good pressure Mark Skyes saw his shot blocked but Braniff pounced the drill the ball into the far corner.

Glenavon piled on the pressure and they were level on 62 minutes after a corner from Hamiltin was headed across goal by Braniff and a defender could only direct it into the net.

It was constant Glenavon pressure but in a quick counter Walls cracked a shot from distance but Blayney gathered at the post.

As the minutes ticked away extra-time was looming when Glenavon struck the winner. Sub Kyle Neill’s corner was met by Bradley and the comeback was complete.
