The information day will be open to all members of the public and will allow interested individuals to view the plans for the regeneration of the stadium, along with the draft proposals for the wider development of the Daisyfied area under the Foyle Valley Gateway Master Plan whilst providing an opportunity to discuss these with Council Officers involved.

Development at the Stadium includes plans for a new stand, playing surface and car park as well as a number of other associated improvements to the existing infrastructure.

Mayor Councillor Brenda Stevenson said: “Prior to the submission of a full planning application, Derry City Council would like to provide members of the public with the relevant information on the proposals that are outlined and already approved by Council for the development of the Brandywell Stadium plus those that are proposed for the wider Daisyfield area under the ambitious Foyle Valley Gateway Master Plan.

“The open day will give members of the public the first chance to view the regeneration proposals and the opportunity to discuss this development, providing a way of alleviating any concerns that may have arisen around the regeneration plans.”

Derry City Council’s Strategic Director, Stephen Gillespie advised: “Given the significant investment and public interest in the regeneration of the Brandywell Stadium and Showgrounds, Council representatives will be available throughout the day and up until 9pm in the evening to answer any questions that any members of the public may have.

“I would encourage everyone to come and view the exciting plans that are in place for the area, an area whose significant potential for redevelopment has been identified and one which has the Councils long term commitment to the wider Foyle Valley Gateway area.”
