Striker Kevin Braniff struck a last gasp penalty to seal a deserved draw with Scottish Premier League side St. Johnstone at Mourneview Park.

Glenavon created the best scoring chances in a keenly contested first half Conor Dillon side footing a half volley over the bar and David Elebert going close was unlucky whenhe connected with an inswinging Mark Patton corner. Then Andy McGrory drew a great save from Alexander Clark after he made good space for himself after collecting a great ball from Braniff.

The Saints had a fair amount of possession but Glenavon were more than happy with their first half performance.

Chris Kane opened the scoring on 72 minutes putting the visitors ahead after he held off a challenge and turned before planting his shot wide of Johnny Tuffey.

McGrory had another powerful shot saved and Dillon just failed to make contact with a cross from McGrory that was almost turned into his own net by a defender.

With just seconds left gary Hamnilton was brought down just when he created space for a shot on goal and up stepped Braniff to smack the ball home.
