Cameron double helps Town U14s to easy victory

Town Juniors Under 14s got back to winning ways after the Easter break with a convincing 3-0 victory over Enniskillen on Saturday morning.

As it turned out the Juniors never looked like conceding at any stage throughout the half as they caused panic in the Ennniskillen defence - in particular the midfield trio of Shea Winters, Reuben Turner and James Orr who all totally controlled the game throughout.

Town went ahead ten minutes into the half when Winters went on a trademark run skipping past three defenders and cutting back a cross from the touchline into the path of striker Cameron Sands who finished under the keeper from close range.

Town forced at least 15 corners in the half but were unable to double their lead. William Doogan and Ben Johnston saw plenty of the ball and forced a few decent efforts but the Rangers keeper stood tall.

Tom Mehaffey was introduced 10 minutes into the second half and he made an impact straight. Shea Winters found him with a ball out to the left and he fired a cross into the box where Sands was able to poke home the second of the day.

Reuben Turner almost scored a brilliant individual goal after he picked the ball up in the middle of the park and dribbled round at least five players before unleashing a shot that just fizzed over the bar.

Ben Johnston also came close after he made room for himself on the edge of the area but his shot was well saved by the ‘keeper.

Town got their third ten minutes from time when that man Mehaffey again found space down the left, he drilled in another low cross this time for Owen Vennard to dink the ball deliciously over the keeper for 3-0.

The Juniors could and should have scored more but after some lazy shooting and decent goalkeeping they settled for three to run out comfortable winners.
