Can anyone do the treble in junior league this time?

No team was able to complete a treble of successes last season in the Lisburn Junior Invitational League, but can someone achieve this difficult goal in the new season which kicks off on Saturday, September 5.

The first group in which this can be achieved is the under-13s and there is no real guide to form in this section.

Lisburn Youth have usually a chance in most groups and Lisburn Rangers Youth shone at this level last time, while TW Braga won the 13s League.

But it will all be different this time, with ne opponents like Blackstaff, Camlough and the returning Carniny.

Glenavy are a surprise entry at this level and Lisburn Ladies are also in the mix, but there are also a number of regulars making the numbers up to 16.

If you take last year as a guide in the 14s, TW Braga, Lisburn Youth and Lisburn Rangers will be among the favourites, but there are a few new boys at this age, including North End, who kept their promise to compete at all ages this time.

Lurgan Celtic are new entrants at under-15 along with Ballyclare Colts, but look out for Downpatrick, Lisburn Youth, Lisburn Distillery and possibly Bloomfield at this level. The 16s have only eight entries and Distillery and Hillsborough Boys will surely be thereabouts, but Lurgan Celtic have also joined and who are Ballybot Celtic?

It is the strongest under-17 s for a few years with several new entries, which include local outfits, Dollingstown and Downshire.

Lisburn Rangers, Lisburn Distillery and Willowbank are also in a very interesting group.
