Captain Moffett brings up the ton mark for champions

Dollingstown manager Gary Duke has had little time to enjoy realising the Mid-Ulster club’s dream of achieving Irish League promotion.

The Planters Park outfit closed out life in Mid-Ulster Intermediate League Section A with a 2-1 win and trophy presentation on Saturday.

Aaron Moffett, the club captain, converted the 100th league goal of the season with a penalty kick and Richard Thompson grabbed the second for the treble winners.

Duke has held talks with the committee to discuss logistics ahead of a summer in which Dollingstown must prepare for an inaugural NIFL Championship Two campaign.

“My coach, Stewart Gallagher, is taking up a position as assistant manager at Knockbreda,” said Duke. “We wish him all the best.

“We have our club dinner this weekend then the focus turns to adding to the squad.”
