Carniny '˜Masters' make first appearance on veterans' stage

Carniny Youth FC had teams from completely opposite ends of the age spectrum in action over the course of the past week.

The club’s P4 age group players when they enjoyed a good day’s football on a sunny afternoon at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

The Robinson’s NISA supermarket sponsored also continued on Saturday morning for the Younger age groups for children born in 2012 to 2009.

‘MASTERS’ ENJOY INAUGURAL GAMES

Carniny assembled a ‘Masters’ team to play in the inaugural veterans games organised by IFA Mid and East Antrim Grassroots team at the Showgrounds IN mid week.

The games were in the seven a side format and saw Carniny play games against teams from Magherafelt, Larne to name a few.

This new initiative is set to continue and Carniny are looking forward to being part of the games.

This week sees the start of the annual awards evenings. Thursday 19th sees the Under 10, 11 and 12 squads host their evening at Michelin Athletic Club, whilst the Under13s, 14s and 15s will be at the same venue the following night. The club’s most senior teams will have their awards at the Adair Arms on Sat 21st.

COACHING/PLAYER OPPORTUNITIES

Carniny Amateur and Youth FC are currently on the look out for enthusiastic aspiring coaches to join their progressive local football club. The club are particularly interested in recruiting coaches for their Football Development Centre currently catering for children born in 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2009. Coaches will have the opportunity to achieve Coerver Coaching Diploma award and will also be progressed by the club through the Irish FA Coaching ladder.

Coaches will be fully funded on their coaching courses with all club coaches progressed on the IFA Coaching ladder and also funding available for Coerver Coaching Diplomas.
