Carniny Youth enjoy final prize night

Carniny Amateur and Youth FC enjoyed their final night of Awards last week when the Under 9s and the club’s Football Development Centre held their end of season evening at the Michelin Athletic Club.

The Under 9s had two teams last season, one which played in the North West and Coleraine District Youth League and another that played in the Tea time Friday night league in Ballymena.

There were prizes awarded fro both teams on the night with awards as follows:

North West and Coleraine District Youth League team: Most Developed Player - winner, David Hanna, runner up, Paul O’Boyle; Leading Goal scorer -winner, Adam Millar, runner up, Joshua Balmer; Player of the Year - winner, Timothy McClure, runner up, Jack Murray

Tea Time League Team: Most Developed Player; winner, Ryan McCartney, runner up , Jack Kelly, Leading Goal scorer, winner, Ryan Clarke, runner up, Diego Fletcher, Player of the Year winner, Diego Fletcher, runner up, Jack Kelly.

UEFA ‘B’ COACHES

The club would like to congratulate Matthew O’Flaherty, the latest coach from the club to progress through part 1 of his UEFA B licence coaching qualification.

Matthew who has been with Carniny as a player since its inception in 2000 and is still a player with the club’s senior team, Carniny Amateurs, will be coaching some of the younger age groups in the club. The club can now claim to have 12 B Licence /IFA Certificate coaches at all age groups from Under 9s right through to the two senior teams.

The club’s Under 12s kept their fitness levels up last Saturday when the squad tackled the weekly 5k ECOS parkrun.

The squad, who are currently in training for the Foyle Cup in July took the opportunity to take part in the event which regularly attracts over 100 runners every Saturday.
