Carniny Youth FC round-up: Under-10s set up ‘derby’ clash with Ballymena

CARNINY Youth under 10s recorded a thumping 10-0 win over Ardoyne to set up a semi-final meeting with Ballymena Youth Academy in the George Best Cup.

Having already won the Coleraine & North West Youth League, the Ballymena boys will now focus their attentions on securing a unique ‘double.’

The 11s also continue to impress with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Dromore Amateurs to stretch their winning run as they challenge for league honours. The 11s have really improved as of late with several new faces joining their ranks with more hopefully joining shortly.

Finally, on a down note the 14s lost their ‘derby’ fixture against Ballymoney United 3-0 but could have expected none the less with six regulars unavailable due to injury and other commitments.

At the lower age groups the clubs Football Development Centre continues for a third week as does the hugely popular Teatime League.
