Carniny Youth National League entries confirmed

Carniny Youth remain the only club representing Ballymena in the National Leagues at all five of the age groups that include under 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 levels. Of the five leagues all will run in the format of one division with the exception of the under 13 league which is large enough to sustain two leagues with Carniny playing in the top division. Carniny will get their chance to rub shoulders with some of the Irish league Academy’s which operate in the league including Linfield, Cliftonville, Glenavon, Portadown and Coleraine.

The remaining three Carniny teams will play in the South Belfast Youth Leagues at under 10, 11 and 17 levels.

Schools Out Soccer Blitz reminder

Once again the club would like to remind all schoolchildren of Primary School age that they are invited to come along to a FREE ‘SCHOOLS OUT SOCCER BLITZ’ at Eaton Park Rugby Club on Friday 25th June commencing at 7pm. The event is completely FREE of charge and open to any child although all attending MUST wear football boots, shin guards and clothing suitable for weather conditions of the time. UEFA ‘B’ Licence for Paul

Current Carniny Under 14 Coach (1997 team) successfully passed the first part of his UEFA ‘B’ Licence coaching qualification last week. Paul completed the course at Stranmillis over a six day intensive program and was on the same course at former Man United and Newcastle Winger, Keith Gillespie. The course also contained many other candidates from America, Australia and other professional clubs in England. Paul has one final assessment to complete to gain the full UEFA B licence qualification.

Double Award Scoop for Amateurs

Carniny Amateur and Youth FC’s senior side Carniny Amateurs pulled off a double win last week when two of their players landed awards at the Ballymena Provivincial League Dinner.

In the Junior league Division One awards, Jordan Graham was awarded the Player of the Year and Tyler Norwood awarded the Young Player of the Year.

A tremendous boost for the young side who finished fourth in the Division One. In fact ninety per cent of the squad have progressed thorough the Carniny Youth Development Centre.

This followed on the teams success from last season when Manager Anthony McCartney scooped the manger of the Year award for their division.

At the teams individual awards evening the prizes were awarded as follows.
