Both the Under 10 teams took the rare chance to play a ‘home’ game when they were paired against each other in a match at the Showgrounds. It proved to be end to end stuff with goals galore with the Amateurs beating the Youth team 12-7 in the end in a very entertaining match that saw hat tricks from Adam Millar (4), Harley Farenden (5) and Harry Foster.

The Under 9 Youths put in a good display to win three nil against Ballymoney Athletic, whilst the U9 Amateurs lost out to Northend by the same scoreline. The U11s completed a league double over Institute and both the Under 12s and 13s battled out one all draws against Glentoran and Glendowan respectively.

Carniny Youth 6, Institute 3: Institute started the brighter however, and with Carniny sitting far too deep, they took the lead as the new look defence tried to cope without their captain at the back.

This brought Carniny out and they started to play some great attacking football, and they were rewarded for this with a quickfire double from striker Ross Kerr before half time.

The second half started at a frantic pace, and left-back Matthew Gregg was on hand to power home into the roof of the net after some neat play around the box for his first league goal for the club.

Carniny however, again sat too deep and encouraged Institute back into the game, and they duly accepted the gifts to level the match at 3-3.
