Carniny Youth under-11s come out on top in high-scoring encounter

Carniny Youth Under 11s were in fine form once again at the weekend, involved in another high scoring match, winning 7-5 against Lisburn Youth.

Also in the Lisburn League the Under 12 Youths played out a 2-2 draw with TW Braga whilst their FC counterparts lost out to Loughgall two goals to one.

In the South Belfast league the U13s rued missed chances as they lost out to Colin Valley at Mallusk.

In the National League the U15s were denied all three points against Warrenpoint, who equalised in the dying minutes to force a 2-2 draw. Both the U14s and 16s lost out to Derry Colts and Cliftonville respectively whilst the U19s left it too late against Ballinamallard in the NIFL Youth League.

UNDER-10

Carniny Youth 2, Bertie Peacocks 7: An early Berties goal was cancelled out by a debut goal from Brogan but Carniny found themselves 4-1 down at the break.

Bell pulled a second goal back for Carniny but another goal rush put the game beyond them.

Carniny Youth 2, Warrenpoint 2: After falling behind to a cross-cum-shot, Carniny equalised when Murray went on a surging run into the box for him to square to Woodin who made no mistake from 6 yards.

Carniny took the lead in the second half when Parker’s low drive nestled in the bottom corner but as the game was approaching the final minutes Carniny conceded a free kick and from the set piece the ball found a Town player who made no mistake.

Carniny Youth 1, Cliftonville 3: Carniny fell behind to a diputed penalty after the ball came off Leetch’s shoulder.

The Belfast side doubled their lead before Elliott pulled a goal back but Cliftonville had the final say with a decisive third goal.
