The Newtownabbey side went into the competition as Plate holders and, after victories over Finn Harps and Trojans, they lost narrowly to the eventual winners of the Foyle Cup, Waterford Boys. The Carnmoney heads did not drop and they won the final against Mid Ulster YL after a sudden death penalty shoot-out.

Club chairman Jody Hill said: “The boys are a credit to the club, their parents and coaches.”
