Carrick begin new campaign with a draw

Carrick’s bid to bounce straight back to the top-flight began with a 2-2 draw against Institute at Dixon Park yesterday.

A Sean Roddy penalty gave ‘Stute the lead in the second minute, before Ryan Semple added a second 10 minutes later.

New signing Correy Davidson pulled one back for Rangers before half-time, while Conor McCloskey - a summer arrival from Portadown - levelled matters from the spot in the second half.
