Causeway Coach Education Scheme

Ballymoney Sports Development Unit are still offering sports clubs/organisation and aspiring coaches an opportunity to take the first steps onto the coaching ladder thanks to the forthcoming ‘Causeway Coach Education Scheme’. ‘This is a unique opportunity to take part in these officially recognised generic courses without having to travel outside the Causeway Area at very affordable prices. If you are interested in any of the courses on offer I would urge you to register ASAP. It is not every day such an extensive series of courses happens on our doorstep.’ said John Fall, Ballymoney Community Sport Project Officer.

The Causeway Coach Education Scheme is a series of courses aimed at local sports clubs, men and women, teachers, students, community leaders or volunteers who wish to help their specific club/organisation to make a start in coaching.

In total there are 3 courses still to choose from in the Ballymoney area as detailed below.

Monday 5th March 2012 Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport 6pm – 9pm £20 Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre Ballymoney This workshop aims to raise awareness of child protection in sport.

Monday 12th March 2012 Designated Officer 6pm – 9pm £30 Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre Ballymoney This workshop is aimed primarily at designated children’s officers within sports clubs.

This Education Scheme has been well subsidised by both local council starting from only £20.

Courses will commence from Monday 27th February 2012. People are encouraged to register their place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as places are being awarded on a first come first served basis.
