Last year, eight ladies teams entered the women’s competition and this year the organisers have added two extra competitions to cater for under 11 and under 13 girls entries.

Tournament organiser Michael Hutton commented: “There has been a growth in ladies football over the past number of years and we in the Foyle Cup committee, want to support this development and growth and have organised three competitions for ladies.

“So far there has been a positive response to the new competitions but as always with the Foyle Cup, we want to maximize entries and include as many new entrants as possible.

“We would hope that team managers, especially in the younger categories, will avail of this opportunity for competition in Ireland’s most popular competition and make contact with us for more details.”
